Since 1984, when Andy Payor released a compact satellite/subwoofer system, he has been designing and crafting some of the world's finest audio products.
The release of the Sirius Phonograph in 1990 heralded the formal introduction of Rockport Technologies and his design philosophy to the world. He understood that the transducers, where mechanical energy changes to electrical energy and vice versa are the most significant considerations in analog reproduction. More than 30 years later, that simple yet consequential understanding is the underpinning of all of his loudspeaker designs. From the birth of an idea to the final detailing and inspection, every finished product is the physical manifestation of a deep understanding of materials, engineering principles and a love of music. This foundation results in tonally neutral products with very low noise and wide dynamic range, revealing not only the power of a musical performance but also the subtle nuances that bring it to life.
Rockport Technologies lives on the cutting edge of design and thus performance. Time is not a factor in production. Every element, from a cabinet to a connector, is painstakingly designed and tested until it performs properly as part of the whole.
