ATC , the Acoustic Transducer Company, started modestly in 1974, manufacturing custom drivers for the professional audio industry. All it took was the design of a 12" driver capable of greater power handling, lower distortion and higher sound pressure levels than anything on the market to bring Billy Woodman and his company to prominence. A revolutionary soft dome midrange followed at which point ATC was on its way to producing complete speaker systems for the home and professional markets. A contract with Danish Radio eventually allowed for the evolution of active speaker systems for enthusiasts in both camps.
It wasn't much of a leap from amplifiers for their active speakers to the production of stand alone audiophile electronics which began in 1996.
Today, you can find ATC everywhere; in the studio, the auditorium and the home.
