In 1951, 22-year-old Stefan Kudelski who had earlier immigrated to Switzerland from Poland, designed a high quality, miniature, self-contained audio recorder. He named it simply the Nagra l; Nagra being a Polish word for "I record". Simplicity, sophistication and high quality have remained the foundation of all Nagra products to this day. The company has expanded from its humble beginnings to produce world class high-end audio electronics, recorders and devices for Law enforcement and Government agencies.
Subcomponents not made in-house are designed and built to Nagra specifications exclusively for their use. Every audio component is tested and then auditioned in their own listening room to ensure musical performance that measurements might not guarantee.
Superlatives abound in every review of Nagra components. Come hear for yourself what people have been trying to convey in words for 65 years.
