If you're going to succeed designing and manufacturing DAC's and ADC's for telecommunications companies and military agencies, maintaining data integrity is of utmost importance. Their success in that arena led Data Conversion Systems to expand into products for the music recording industry where, in the late 1980's, this technology was burgeoning. Assembling a stellar team of digital audio engineers enabled dCS to manufacture the most musically engaging digital sources available. As their products evolved, dCS increasingly relied on internally developed, proprietary technologies; the Ring DAC being the best known and most significant among them. Their DAC's support a full range of digital inputs: USB, AES-EBU and S/PDIF. They can stream over Ethernet from a NAS drive or online services such as Qobuz, Tidal w/MQA and others. In addition they support streaming from Apple devices via Airplay. It is through ceaseless technological advancements and their affiliations with the recording industry that dCS is able to ensure that their products always present the music's full emotional impact.
