What about Satellite Radio?
Sirius/XM offers subscription radio. This is also a lossy compressed digital audio signal, unfortunately being broadcast at lower bit rates.
The merger between Sirius and XM occurred at the end of July 2008. Because both Sirius and XM used different compression technologies different circuits are necessary to decode the signals. If you are interested you can now get a tuner which will receive both Sirius and XM broadcasts. The Onkyo T-4555S HD/AM/FM/XM/Sirius Tuner is one such example.
